| I just have to tell ya what I did recently. What started out as trying to make a "mobile" LEV that could construct tactical structures anywhere, turned out to be something entirely different. My attempts at making a mobile LEV failed, so I created a new Capture ability that could capture enemy planetary structures. When I first tried it out in game, I made about twenty of them and sent them on their way to the nearest enemy world. It was a Vasari stronghold with loads of Hangar Defenses and Missile Platforms. At first all of their strikecraft started coming after my Saboteurs. But as soon as their structures started changing colors, they started attacking the structures and running around like their heads were cut off. It was quite amusing to see the strikecraft that belonged to a hangar defense suddenly change to my colors and turn around and start attacking the other fighters after capturing a hangar defense. This unit is by no means balanced, but it sure was fun to fool around with. | |

| Cool, that would make an awesome ability for a deploy-able unit from a Capital ship. Would you mind if I used some thing like that in my mod? | |

| Not at all, go right ahead. With a few tweaks, the unit could easily be balanced for the game. And it does present a whole new strategic possibility.
Zer0, do you want a copy of the Frigate's GameInfo file, and the Abilitiy GameInfo file? It's nothing special, it's just a TEC LEV with a modified capture ability. But your welcome to it if it helps you make a deployable unit. | |

What I have at the moment for it is just an ability of the capital ship that is supposed to capture enemy fighters but it doesn't work for some reason. No errors show in Dev exe. or Zombies validator, so I am a bit stumped. | |

| Here is the gameinfo file for the LEV Frigate that I am using for this unit, (sorry, I don't have a new model.) Along with the the Capture Ability and it's Buff. http://www.mediafire.com/?vvpdsdpb5agudrdNow this ability is for capturing enemy modules. However it should be as simple as changing it from enemy planet module, to enemy frigate for it's target. Hope this helps. EDIT: This unit is way overpowered, but it could very easily be balanced for a mod. | |

| Thanks for that. It looks very similar to how I had mine set up. I think maybe why mine wasn't working is because the capital doesn't have the command points and squads allocated, I think maybe I will make it so it captures enemy hangars only, hopefully this will do the trick.
Once I have this done and fixed another issue with NanoHullrepair ability, I will be ready to release a beta. | |
